How does aShopFor.com work?

aShopFor.com allows individuals, friends, and groups set up a free "shop" to help fund your goals. aShopFor.com has a business relationship with each retailer and service provider that allows us to link to that business. When a member clicks on a link and subsequently makes a purchase from the retailer, we receive a commission based on the amount of the sale for referring the customer. Each link is unique to the shop you have created so we can track the purchases and pass the commissions to each shop. You will see this called a contribution on your shop.

When we say 12.5% or 8% or 10% next to a retailer on a shop, each and every penny goes directly to your shop. No administrative costs, no fees, nothing -- 100 percent to your cause. aShopFor.com is paid a sales commission (over and above the contribution amount) when our members make purchases, allowing us to continue to expand our services.

Why does aShopFor.com provide this service?

We believe everyone should have the opportunity to make some extra money and be able to live a better life, complete your life goals, funding friend/social group activities, and helping those in need. You get to take ownership of your shop, customize it, and communicate directly with your shop supporters.

Who can benefit?

Anyone can benefit whether you are an individual, group of friends, sports club, school group, charity, university, or any other type of organization. We encourage you and your friends to be creative with your shop and their goals.

Can I support more than one shop?

You sure can! Most of our members have 3 or 4 shops that they own or contribute to. Generally they have their own shop for individual goals, one or two shops with their friends, and one or two organization shops they support. Just make sure that you start shopping by following the retailer links from the shop you want the contribution to support.

Will aShopFor.com sell information about me or my purchase habits?

No. Never. We are here because of you. aShopFor.com is successful because of our smart, respectful users, and we are NOT going to abuse, offend, or otherwise take advantage of you!

Will I start receiving "spam" if I join?

No. We will not sell your information to any third party. We do send our members information related to savings and special offers as they become available, but you may unsubscribe from our email lists at any time. From time to time the owners of the shops you support may send you emails thanking you for your contributions or updating you on the shops' progress. We ask shop owners not to spam their supporters. If they do, please let us know and we will warn them or shut down their shop.

Why do retailers give referral commissions?

It seems very generous, but when you buy online costs are much lower. As there's no shop, salesperson, heating, electricity, rates, not even the cost of the bag to put your goods in, retailers set aside a marketing budget for referral programs. It is a risk free way for them to generated extra sales because they only pay the commission when a sale or lead has been completed.

What is the new shop referral bonus?

When you create a shop a unique referral link, just like the retailer links, is created and attached. You will see this link on the front page of your shop for supporters to pick up, and also in your individual admin center. This is a very powerful money generating link for your shop. You and your supporters can put this link in emails, newsletters, on websites and blogs etc to promote your shop and aShopFor.com. When someone clicks on that link and creates their own shop or clicks on the create a shop button, your shop will receive a bonus contribution each month equal to 20% of the earnings of the shop created through the link. Here is an example:

Shop B creates a new shop through shop A's link/button.

Shop B makes $1000 through shopping contributions AND their own referral bonus contributions.

Shop A receives 20% of $1000 = $200 (Shop B still receives their full contributions)

Total contributions paid to shops from aShopFor.com = $1200

This becomes extremely powerful for raising money when you have say 100 supporters who each use your shops' link to get maybe 5 individuals, groups of friends, or organizations to create their own shops. That's 500 other shops with unlimited earnings potential (remember this includes the 20% referral contributions they make) created through your shop link/button.

Imagine if you had thousands of visitors/supporters on your website, blog, or newsletter, or knew lots of large groups to promote your shops' 20% referral link to...

The referral contribution sounds too good to be true, how is it possible?

We created aShopFor.com so everyone can realize their dreams and goals. aShopFor.com is paid a sales commission by the retailers (over and above the contribution amount) when our members make purchases. We want to share that commission with our members as well. We ran the numbers and figured out that we could help everyone earn an unlimited sum of money with a 20% bonus shop referral contribution.

Shop Setup FAQs

How do I setup a shop?

It's simple! To setup a FREE shop you need to go to aShopFor.com press create a shop and start filling out your information. Just fill out your information and you will have your own live, customizable shop ready to start earning money in a matter of minutes!

How do we edit or update our shop ?

You can edit or update shop you own or your supporter details by logging into your account center. The login can be found in the header of each shop.

How do I keep track of how much we've earned?

Login into your admin area and go to "Shops I Own". You can see a summary of your shop earnings in your shop details or you can download a comprehensive earnings report.

When does my shop receive the money?

Paypal payments are made to your shop monthly. We need to have received the commissions from the retailers to include it in your payment. Retailers generally don't pay us commissions until any refund/return period has finished.

How do I know you have sent the money to my goal?

In your shop account centre we will post the details of all the payment we make to you. If you fail to receive your payment please Contact Us.

Is shopping at your site secure?

Yes. Every one of our stores offers safe and secure shopping.

Why do I have to "Become a Supporter"?

You need to press the "Become a Supporter" button so you can add the shop to your "Shops I Support" in the admin and be individually recognized as having contributed to the shop by the shop owner.

Do I have to start my shopping from aShopFor.com?

Yes. To receive contributions your supporters must start shopping by clicking on the links on your aShopFor.com shop.

What if I have a problem with my order?

Contact the orders or customer service department of the retailer. You can also try tracking your packages.

If I make a purchase from a retailer before they are listed on aShopFor.com, do I still get credit?

Unfortunately, only those purchases made AFTER the store appears on an aShopFor.com shop count. You must have started your shopping from a link on aShopFor.com in order to get credit for your shop. Why? Because only aShopFor.com members can earn money for their shops from their purchases, and only after we make an agreement with the retailer to contribute a percentage of your purchase to your favorite shop. Shopping through a shop at aShopFor.com ensures that your purchase information is automatically processed by aShopFor.com so your shop gets the credit it deserves.

How much money does my shop receive when I shop?

Your cause receives the full percentage of the purchase price (purchase price does not include tax, shipping, or handling) which is listed on aShopFor.com. Each retailer offers a certain percentage or dollar value contribution. Occasionally, some specific products will not be eligible for a contribution. We will do our best to inform you if this is the case.
